>> Dirk Brossé delighted 50 MÖBIUS customers with his personal story at the introductory session of The Agile Academy in Bozar. He spoke with real passion of how he deals adroitly with his audience and musicians. As a conductor he plays a central role in getting his orchestra to perform well by continually shaping and adjusting it. To achieve this, he finds it essential both to keep the musicians alert for his gestures, and to forge a bond with his audience. The challenge lies in bringing his interpretation to life in non-verbal communication, despite the limited amount of licence often allowed by the score, and despite the often big egos of members of the orchestra. Dirk Brossé rates his level of success regularly by monitoring whether he still works out of passion. A passion for music is what motivates him, the conviction that music affects people’s moods, and makes a better person of them. He advised us to read the book by Oliver Sacks: ‘Musicophilia’.
